Aviano Middle/High School (also commonly referred to as Aviano American High School) is a United States Department of Defense Dependents Schools (DoDDS) secondary school in the Mediterranean District, which serves the southern European portion of DoDDS schools. It is located on the United States Air Force Base in Aviano, Italy which is operated by the 31st Fighter Wing. Students are dependents of active duty military, civilian, and Department of Defense employees, although some students are children of foreigners willing to pay tuition. The school and DoDDS is governed by the higher organization known as Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA).
As of the 2008-2009 school year Aviano Middle School and Aviano High School were joined into one school now serving grades 6-12. It is classified as a Division II school in DoDDS Europe. All students must maintain academic eligibility in order to participate in the athletics program.

Aviano Middle/High School offers Honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses for high school students. The Honors World Literature and History classes are combined classes. Students who take one must take the other and receive a joint performance grade that is averaged together.
The purpose of the student government at Aviano is to provide everyone with an equal chance to have a say in what goes on in the student body. The student government acts as advocates to the administration on behalf of all students. They may also be responsible for organizing school events such as pep rallies, dances, and increasing student morale. Each office is headed by a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and a Public Relations officer.
